HIKVISION Facial Access DS-K1T344MFX-E1 Dual Len Accuracy IP65 Outdoor Weatherproof Finger RFID DOOR ACCESS Repair Replace

HIKVISION DS-K1T344MFX-E1 Facial Recognition Door Access

Dual-Lens Face Recognition • Fingerprint • RFID Card • IP65 Outdoor • Access Control & Attendance

The HIKVISION DS-K1T344MFX-E1 is a multi-authentication facial access terminal designed for door access control, staff attendance and replacement of older card/fingerprint access systems. It combines dual-lens facial recognition, fingerprint and RFID card authentication in one terminal, with an IP65-rated enclosure for suitably installed outdoor and semi-outdoor applications.

It is particularly useful for upgrading aging access-control installations because a single terminal can provide several authentication methods instead of relying solely on an RFID card or fingerprint.

Key Features

For project quotations, the exact card technology, user capacities, recognition distance, operating temperature and interface counts should follow the regional DS-K1T344MFX-E1 datasheet/firmware supplied with the unit, because closely related K1T34x variants differ.

Dual-Lens Facial Recognition

The dual-camera architecture provides more information for facial authentication than a basic single-camera terminal and supports Hikvision’s anti-spoofing design.

A typical access sequence is:

Person Approaches
↓
Dual-Lens Face Capture
↓
Face Authentication
↓
Authorized User
↓
Door Relay Activates
↓
EM Lock / Electric Strike Releases

Face-recognition performance still depends on mounting height, illumination, user position, enrollment quality and configuration. It is better to state “high-accuracy facial recognition” rather than promise 100% recognition.

Face + Fingerprint + RFID

One major advantage is the ability to provide several credentials:

FACE — convenient touch-free access
FINGERPRINT — biometric authentication
RFID CARD — traditional access credential

Depending on the supported firmware and configuration, these can be deployed according to the site’s access policy.

For example:

Office: Face / Card
Restricted Room: stronger multi-factor configuration where supported
Staff Attendance: Face / Fingerprint
Visitors: administrator-controlled credential workflow

IP65 Outdoor Weather Protection

The IP65 rating provides dust protection and resistance against water jets under the applicable test conditions, making the terminal suitable for more demanding installations than an indoor-only access reader.

However, IP65 does not mean waterproof under every condition. For outdoor installations, good practice is to provide a suitable rain shield where necessary, seal cable entries correctly and avoid locations subject to prolonged direct water exposure.

Complete Door Access System

A professional installation is more than the facial terminal alone:

DS-K1T344MFX-E1
↓
Door Access Power Supply
↓
EM Lock / Electric Strike
↓
Exit Button + Door Contact
↓
Emergency Break Glass where required

Network connection can then provide:

Access Terminal → LAN → Management Software / Platform

The exact architecture should account for the site’s egress, fire-safety and fail-safe/fail-secure requirements.

Repair & Replacement of Existing Door Access

The DS-K1T344MFX-E1 can also be considered when replacing an older Hikvision facial terminal, fingerprint reader, RFID reader or standalone access controller.

A proper replacement assessment should check:

Existing 12VDC power → Lock type → Existing PSU/battery → Door relay wiring → Exit button → Door contact → Network → Existing cards/users → Management software

Do not assume that replacing only the reader will solve an access-control fault. Common failures can originate from the power supply, backup battery, electromagnetic lock, door alignment, exit button, cabling, network or controller configuration.

10 Major Benefits

1. Dual-lens facial authentication for modern biometric access control.
2. Face recognition provides convenient touch-free entry.
3. Fingerprint authentication provides another biometric credential.
4. RFID card access supports traditional card-based operation.
5. IP65 protection for suitable outdoor/semi-outdoor installations.
6. Access control + attendance functions can be combined in one terminal.
7. Anti-spoofing capability helps defend against simple face-presentation attempts.
8. Network management enables centralized user and access administration with compatible Hikvision software.
9. Suitable for upgrading legacy systems where older card/fingerprint readers need replacement.
10. Professional door integration supports electromagnetic locks, exit devices and other access-control components according to the system design.

Ideal Applications

Office Door Access • Factory • Warehouse • Commercial Building • Gym • KTV • Tuition Centre • School • Staff Entrance • Server Room • Restricted Area • Condominium Facilities

For gym, KTV or membership applications, the system can also be designed around time-limited access permissions, provided the selected Hikvision management platform/firmware supports the required validity schedules.

10 FAQs

1. Does DS-K1T344MFX-E1 support facial recognition?

In Singapore, many of us are used to seeing things happen on CCTVs. Particularly monitor domestic helper, kids & senior parents at home.

When crime happened, CCTVs become some of the most useful forms of documentation of evidence.

Close Circuit Television cameras, also known as CCTV, offer the complete package of home, office, or outdoor security.
When people know that they are being watched, there is a lower chance for delinquent behavior.

So what do you do? You can increase security with minimal effort by installing a video surveillance camera.

Why you need a CCTV

It’s simple – CCTVs tend to ward off delinquent behavior thanks to an effect called the Hawthorne Effect or Deterrence Effect.

The Hawthorne Effect, otherwise known as the Observer Effect, happens when a person is aware that he or she is being monitored.

The individual will change his or her behavior to suit the person who is watching them. In the case of CCTVs.
Often, a person will be deterred from doing wrong if a camera is present in the vicinity.

Fun fact: The Hawthorne Effect can also be seen when taking photos. Most people will strike a pose as soon as the camera is facing them.

Here are some additional reasons as to why you might consider setting up a CCTV system in Singapore:

• Documentation – to record any misdemeanor or crime in the vicinity
• Record-keeping – to keep track of date and time (especially when travelling)
• Time lapse – to view progress over a day/month/year

Now that you are convinced to get a CCTV camera system, let’s look some steps on how to choose the right CCTV.

How to choose a CCTV camera?

Determine what it is you are trying to monitor. Monitoring indoor would require a different system as compared to outdoor.
How large is the space you are filming?
Larger areas may need to utilise a video surveillance with zooming capabilities.

• Do your cameras need to be hidden or not? If you’re trying to catch a known thief, you might want to use an inconspicuous one.
• How many cameras do you need? To monitor a few areas at a time, you might need a few cameras strategically set in place.
• What basic features you are looking for in a CCTV.
Consider are colour and definition of the image, connection and storage of the data, motion detection, night vision and weather protection.

These are just some steps to consider when choosing a CCTV camera system.

Once you know how to pick the best security camera for your vicinity, it’s time to purchase one. How do you do that?
You can get the best in CCTV technology from brands like Hikvision, Dahua, Certis Cisco, Panasonic, Choice from Choicecycle SGCCTV.
